On the Menstruality podcast, we’ve been on a three-year journey into the power and wisdom of the menstrual cycle and menopause, and along the way, we’ve had several conversations about the the magic that lives in our wombs, ovaries, pelvic bowls and nervous systems.

In a world where women’s rights are under question in ever more ways, we’d like to share these conversations with you, as resources to help you remember, reclaim and root into the brilliance of your body.

The Power and Wisdom Within Your Pelvic Bowl with Tami Lynn Kent

Tami is the creator of Holistic Pelvic Care. This conversation explores the power and medicine we hold in our pelvic bowls and how we can resource ourselves as we 'work on the frontlines of the feminine', and why Tami came to be known as the Vagina Whisperer!

The Power, Intelligence and Pleasure Within Your Cervix with Olivia Bryant

In this conversation we explored a much misunderstood part of the body… the cervix. Our guest, Olivia, is the founder of Self:Cervix, an organisation dedicated to revolutionising the way the cervix is viewed by the medical profession, by science and sex educators. In this conversation we explore the spectrum of cervical awakening—from healing trauma, to enhancing pleasure, to cultivating states of deeply loving consciousness.

The Menstrual Cycle and the Female Nervous System

Historically, trauma research has been done primarily on men, and then applied to women’s bodies as if it’s going to work in the same way. But as our guest, Somatic Emotional Processing facilitator Veronica Rottman, shared women and those socialised as female experience trauma differently inside a patriarchal culture.

We chat about Veronica’s own personal trauma healing journey from CPTSD, why the female nervous system is more prone to the freeze response and and why it’s important to think carefully about how we use the term ‘regulation’ when it comes to trauma resolution and our nervous systems.

The Healing Connection Between the Womb and the Voice with Shakira Sabira

Across the ages women and birthing people have been invited by midwives and doulas to relax their jaw and throat to support the opening of the cervix in labour. In this conversation we explored the connection between our throats, our voices, and the emotional and physical health of our wombs, with doula and African womb healing practitioner Shakirah Sabira.

The Womb as a Portal to Personal, Collective and Ancestral Trauma Healing with Dr Jeevan Singh

Befriending our menstrual cycles and wombs and coming home to the root of our body, and to our pelvic bowls often means negotiating any trauma that we’ve experienced in that part of our bodies, or other traumas that we hold in this part of our bodies. As our guest, the brilliant Dr Jeevan Singh, shared the pelvic bowl is an organ of relationship that has the capacity to guide our personal and collective experience.
