In-Person Retreat

Five days of community connection, Menstruality exploration, nature immersion and delicious food, in the heart of the English countryside at Hawkwood College in Stroud, UK
Picture this

Daydreaming on the grass, surrounded by green fields, birdsong and ancient trees, staring up at the open blue sky;

sipping on a hot mug of tea in the dewy morning air, sharing stories about your life, work and calling with new, like-minded, menstruality-passionate soul friends;

the warmth of the crackling fire
on an evening filled with great conversation, belly laughter and home-cooked food;

sitting in circle, surrounded by hearts devoted to the power of our wombs and cycles, as we uplift each other and deepen our connection to this great work and our unique roles in its unfolding.

We invite you to come and experience all of this and so much more at our second in-person post-graduate community retreat in September, at Hawkwood College in Stroud, the historical home of the in person MLP.

About the retreat

The movement for cycle awareness and conscious menopause is flourishing worldwide, and we are at its very heart.

We want to invite you to tend to this heart, and to experience how our power in this movement is nourished by our relationships with one another and our capacity to support, inspire and uplift each other and those we serve.

We all know that living in alignment with our cycles is not easy in this world and that it’s easy to feel like we’re not walking our talk, or struggle with feeling burned out, overwhelmed or like we have to do it all alone. The truth is: we need each other and we need opportunities to drink deeply and refill our cups. There is such depth, richness and magic when we come together in-person, face-to-face, body-to-body.

So, as Sjanie and Alexandra move closer to their sabbatical and some big transitions at Red School - we invite you to a week of nurturance, rest and tending to the fires of your inspiration within the circle at the heart of this work.

This retreat is an adventure into Menstruality and the Dark Arts. We will explore the dance between structure and flow, offering a strong container and rhythm that we can relax into, with space for emergence: what themes might unfold that wish to be collectively explored? What gifts do we each bring with us that can enrich our community?

We each have a role to play in this movement. This retreat is designed to nourish, hold and amplify your essence and Calling—enliven your connection to menstruality and experience the power in community and how together we become bigger than the sum of our parts. A precious week of time-outside-of-time, protected from the weathering of the day-to-day, to come home to yourself.

What people are saying about being together at Hawkwood:
I’ve told some people how much our retreat helped me emerge and changed so much for me.

There is a surprise that one singular event can do so much for someone.

Looking back, it was a pivotal moment in my worth and my emergence and I’m so grateful that you were all a part of it.

(MLP 2020)
This retreat wildly exceeded my expectations. To be immersed in a group of women who have all completed the MLP meant that we immediately had language to dive deeper into sharings about experiences, challenges and hopes.

I completed the MLP 10 years ago and it was exciting to see how the teachings have developed and to recharge my passion for spreading menstruality in my part of the world.  The facilitation by Alexandra and Sjanie, but also by Abi and Ruby, was exceptional. There was a strong container for vulnerability to feel okay and for big shifts to happen on a personal and community level.
Tessa Sanderson
(MLP 2016)
My experience at the retreat was truly life changing. My virtual time with Red School's teachings lit a fire in me but my in person time with the leaders and community set that fire a blaze.  The wisdom of the teachings runs deeper in my bones now.

My lived experience of what it means to share this wisdom in an intentional and relational way has altered how I can see myself bringing this work to the world; it has made my capacity increase.

Professionally, I was deeply inspired and given vision and trust in myself to be a conduit for this work in the way my spirit will direct and guide it.
